05/13/10 We have arrived!!!

Well guys, we made it to Nice, France around 12:30 pm our time and 6 am your time. We had a few problems with finding how to get from the airport to our hotel, but within an hour managed to swiftly pass through the language barrier and find some answers.

We got to the hotel and that’s when things really began to become a problem. Our room was being cleaned and we ended up having to wait like 45 minutes. Once we were finally in our rooms, Miles and I set forth in trying to communicate with the outside world. I say this because when we landed in Paris this morning neither one of our phones had service.

Two long distance calls later our parents knew we were fine, and we set our efforts on trying to get the Internet working. That was another challenges in it self. When we arrived there was a very large thunderstorm that pasted overhead, and Miles and I decided that with everything that happened today, we would hold off on the festival until tomorrow.

For the rest of the evening we explored our local surroundings, and managed to make a trip to the beach. We walked about 2 miles on a bike path. There were so many restaurants!! Literally, like three to four piled on one another.


After turning around, Miles needed to get some euro, so we made a quick stop to a Cap 3000, just a very large grocery store. He used an atm and then we went off to find food.

We ended up eating at Dylano’s, a very high end café, located right there on the beach. We both had fillet faux grille dans frites, and both got drinks. Miles ended up drinking a Banano, melon ice cream with some sort of melon juice, and I had an Atlanta, Coca Cola with some sort of fruit syrup.


Much to our surprise, our bill ended up being much less then we anticipated, and after relaxing for a few moments we came back to the hotel room.

When we wake up tomorrow, we will be out the door and to the train, so we can acquire our badges without any other moments lost.
